“People may die, but proverbs don’t”

Popular proverbs are one of the most important symbols that distinguish Egyptian and Arab societies. Till this very day, they are used frequently all around the middle east, giving day to day speech a poetic quality not found in many other languages. Behind every proverb, there is always particular storytelling about how it came to exist. Proverbs often consist of one sentence that people use to express their dissatisfaction with a particular verb in a particular situation.
The following video contains the origin of one of those proverbs which literally translates into: "It’s a zucchini" that people use to express feelings of injustice or disorder towards a certain thing. So continue to understand the story behind this and the context in which it is used!
